Since its founding in 2019, CelinaRob has provided women a means of expressing their femininity with confidence and glamour. CelinaRob dresses employ a variety of fabrics that transcend cultural boundaries and embody diversity while presenting the creative vision of designer and founder Rebecca Bolou Owotorufa. Describing her vision, Rebecca shared: When a woman envisions heaven, she sees a life where she is completely free to express herself. One of the expressions a woman cherishes most is beauty. CelinaRob is a tribute to the woman’s heavenly desire for beauty on earth. Rebecca is more than a fashion designer; she is a storyteller, a visionary, and a voice that empowers and celebrates the feminine beauty heritage. A heritage that transforms our world from a black-and-white landscape to one filled with the colours of a rainbow. As CelinaRob’s creative director, Rebecca channels her life experiences and reflections into designs that go beyond the ordinary. Her journey to fashion is as compelling as her designs. Hailing from the Niger Delta region of Nigeria, Rebbeca witnessed firsthand how the natural beauty of the region was marred by environmental damage caused by regulated and unregulated crude oil exploitation. Black soot obscured the colours of the sky […] The post Rebecca Bolou Owotorufa Presents OPUERE, a Unique Expression of Beauty via CelinaRob appeared first on BN Style.

A Night of Vibrant Expression: Glenfiddich Celebrates Audacious African Fashion Designers, Ifeanyi Nwune & Orange Culture
What would you picture if you were asked to imagine a room where every fashion item tells a story of boldness and audacity? For us, it would be “Glenfiddich Present Bold in Fashion with I.N Official and Orange Culture” which was held recently on the 26th and 27th of October at Amah Studio. At the event, fashion was celebrated with pieces that exuded bold patterns and unexpected combinations that left us in awe. Ifeanyi Nwune and Orange Culture’s unapologetic creative collections embodied the essence of the “Celebrate the Bold” campaign from which the “Bold in Fashion” experience was born. The first day of the event unfolded with exquisite musical renditions that served as the backdrop for fashion enthusiasts to mingle and fraternise over their shared love of fashion, culture, and striking signature pieces from Ifeanyi’s “Nirvana” collection that adorned the venue. Each of the pieces, styled primarily with Aso-Oke, evoked the richness of Africa’s rich heritage and pride of black supremacy. It was not hard to identify Ifeanyi as a Glenfiddich collaborator as the display included six standout pieces exclusively for the newly released I.N Official X Glenfiddich Collection, which was an influence and inspiration by the Glenfiddich 12-year-old whisky […] The post A Night of Vibrant Expression: Glenfiddich Celebrates Audacious African Fashion Designers, Ifeanyi Nwune & Orange Culture appeared first on BN Style.

Cynthia Erivo Speaks Starring in ‘Wicked’, Working with Ariana Grande on ELLE’s Women in Hollywood Issue
British-Nigerian actress and singer Cynthia Erivo covers ELLE USA‘s Women in Hollywood Dec/Jan issue. She speaks on playing Elphaba in the film version of  Wicked and how it was not an opportunity she would have ever envisioned for herself. As a Black actress stepping into that role, Cynthia says Why would that change for the film? I couldn’t even dream about wanting it. When you’re in this skin and you walk around, you are immediately an ‘other’. It was a really wonderful experience to be able to step into this role, outside of my own skin, and into someone else’s, who has also been ‘othered.’ It’s important to know what it feels like. I hope that this shifts and changes things across stages. On working with Ariana Grande and building a relationship off screen, I’ve gained a sister. At this point, we speak almost every day. Both of us were blown away by how connected we were immediately. Cynthia says the movie-musical allowed her bring her theatrical roots to the screen in a robust way, singing live and doing her own stunts.
